A small one bedroom house might not seem like a place that a five star celebrity would live in, because it’s not. Melody Strauss was far from a five star celebrity, she had just moved to Sunset Valley with her cat Gizmo from a small town up north where she grew up. After she finished school, her parents decided to tour the world for their retirement, so Melody had no choice but to find her own place and start her new life as a young adult. She found a house in Sunset Valley through an ad on Sim’s-List and moved in a few short weeks later. It wasn’t much, but it was all she could afford with the little money she had been saving up for when this day had to come. One bedroom, one bathroom, a small living room, and an even smaller kitchen was all she had to work with. It didn’t matter to her though because in her mind, she would be a five star celebrity and living in a huge mansion overlooking the ocean in no time!
It took almost the entire day to move in all of her things and get settled in. She was exhausted, but her house was now a home. It was simple, but the neutral brown tones gave it warmth. She needed more decor, but would need to make more money before that could happen. For now, it will do. She made a quick dinner, which she burned since she had no cooking skills, then her and Gizmo went to bed. She had to wake up early tomorrow and start working towards her dream of being a movie star.
The next morning, Melody woke up and made herself a bowl of cereal. She decided once she got a job, her next goal was to practice cooking. Her mother always did all of the cooking growing up so she didn’t have any experience in the kitchen. “Maybe I’ll take a cooking class on my next day off” she thought to herself.
After breakfast she took a quick shower and her imagination started to flow. As the hot water ran down her body, it relaxed her nerves about her job interview this morning. She pictured herself on a movie set as the lead actress, wooing her coworkers with her acting skills. She had no doubt in her mind she would land a job at Plumbob Pictures, her star quality would win them over for sure!
The Plumbob Pictures Backlot is nestled at one of the highest points in Sunset Valley, overlooking the entire town. It’s the place where some of the biggest movies in the world are made, and where Melody hoped to one day be a part of those movies. She dreamed of walking down the street and having Sims run up to her for her autograph, asking for pictures, and marveling over her good looks and fashion sense. She snapped out of her day dream and realized she didn’t have much time before her scheduled interview. In a slight panic, she started running through the parking lot towards the door.
She gathered herself up and took a deep breath before walking through the door. “You got this Melody. Calm, cool, collected. Calm, cool, collected. Calm, cool, collected...” she repeated to herself. One more deep breath, then she walked through the door of her destiny. As soon as she opened the door she saw the receptionist sitting behind the front desk, as well as another woman with short purple hair standing behind her who smiled when she caught Melody’s eye.
“Hello! You must be Melody Strauss. I’m Cornelia Goth, the production manager here at Plumbob Pictures. Come on back with me to my office so we can talk!”
The interview only lasted about 20 minutes before Cornelia said the words Melody has been waiting to hear for as long as she could remember.
“Well Melody, welcome to Plumbob Pictures! You will be starting out as a background actress and you work Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 2:00PM. It is imperative you be on time so I will send someone to pick you up at 6:00AM. See you Monday!”
Melody couldn’t hold back the scream and jumped up with a huge smile on her face. “Thank you Cornelia! You won’t be disappointed!”
Immediately after the interview, Melody decided to go to The Dive Bar to celebrate. It was a new spot in Sunset Valley so she hoped to meet some people since she didn’t know anyone in her new town. It was a cute place right on the beach with interesting lighting, a huge dance floor, and even a bubble bar! This is just what she needed to celebrate the beginning of her new life.
After a quick drink, Melody hit the dance floor. She was feeling fantastic and needed to release some of her excitement. There was only a few other people there since it was still early in the evening, and she was the only one dancing, but she didn’t care. The cool mist of the fog machine, the beautiful changing colors of the lights underneath her, and the vibrations in the air from the loud music gave her an adrenaline rush. She closed her eyes, and danced.
An hour flew by and Melody decided to sit down and try the bubble bar. She had only heard of them back home, but had never seen one let alone used one. She heard of the wonderful feeling it gave you, and the delicious flavors you could choose from. She sat down, decided on the strawberry flavor, and relaxed for the rest of the night.
